Society

Okay so society is a part of the culture we live in. From country to country (even from state to state here in the USA) it's not the same. It can be close and some parts are similar but overall it's different.
Society tells us what's good, what's bad what we have to do to succeed and what it means to fail. Like us humans society has developed along with us. But where did it all start and why do we care so much about it?
I suppose we could go all the way back to the good old Mesopotainians or even farther back. Back to when humans started living together and developing civilization. But was this a wise move?
Really, think about it. Before we were happy living in our caves, hunting mammoths and living off the land, we were basically happy and healthy.
Then some moron (or a group of morons) went and ruined it. They started living in larger groups, in huts (no more caves) and started to ruin the land that had given us life for so many years. Sure, humans are social creatures and we are rather smart and sooner or later would have moved out of the caves and eventually maybe gotten us to where we are today, completely reliant on technology. We can no longer do anything on our own.
What I'm getting at is, has our societies ruin us humans and our planet? We're dealing with rising violence, pollution (don't forget global warming) and so many more problems. Was it a good and smart move for humans to move out of the caves and start over populating the land?
I think that over time our society and culture has slowly shifted away form what's important (like education) into something that could lead to the end of our rule over the planet. We are no longer the scholar we once were, we are no longer as intelluctual as our ancestors. We are sloths, violent ones at that. We no longer care about knowledge, out society show us that all that matters is money, glory and a big house with several ex-husbands (or ex-wives).
Just some thoughts to digest but has out society ultimately destroyed our human race?

I've always said that AGRICULTURE is what ruined people! Before agriculture all of our food was organic, free, and involved a lot of exercise to catch. After agriculture we get pesticides, cavities, and heart disease! We should've stayed safe and happy in our caves!
