Really to me it seems that more often than not emotions mess things up and screw with your mind. Sure, emotions are what make us human and all but I mean really again with why are our lives so evolved around how we feel? When was there the point (if there is a certain point) when people began caring about what they were feeling?
No, I'm not saying that all emotions and actions based on emotion are bad, I'm just curious about where it all originated. I want to met the caveman that woke up one morning and said to himself Today I feel happy, I'm going to enjoy the day or Grrr, I'm made, I want to go hunt some wholly mammoth.
Really when did the human brain begin acknowledging the emotions we feel? Is this the one thing that sets us apart from all the other mammals?
We are all guilty of acting upon our emotions and not clearly thinking an act through, we've all done it countless times. If we are mad then we are usually crappy and so on and so forth, but why aren't other mammals like this?

I don't know if I agree that only humans feel emotions. I have a cat that is usually very lazy, but if you leave the room where she's at, she will wake up and start yowling because she's lonely. Isn't being lonely a supposed "human" emotion? I think that maybe some cats have human-like emotions too.
